Uorfi’s Apsara-Core Look Echoes Sridevi’s Yash Raj Era, Minus Wardrobe Malfunction

At the Fashion Entrepreneur Fund event in Mumbai, Uorfi Javed struck a pose in a Raw Mango saree that gave the classic apsara look a modern spin. More demure than her usual avant-garde style, this was a refreshing nod to traditional elegance. Minor wardrobe malfunctions briefly caught attention but didn’t overshadow the total appeal of her traditional look on the red carpet.

Raw Mango Banarasi saree was done extremely skillfully to enhance curves. The pallu worked out as a bust detail instead of a blouse, though the floral crown came as that final touch that wrapped the entire apsara look.

Reminiscing through the look recalled that golden time when apsaras looked grandly featured in films containing Sridevi and Juhi Chawla. Evidently, the divine angelic portrait by Sridevi for films like ‘Chandni’ (1989) and ‘Aadmi aur Apsara’ (1990) and iconic dance by Juhi for the film ‘Darr’ (1993), inspired the choice of look made for Uorfi.

It’s not the first time Uorfi has donned the apsara theme. She had earlier this year sported a bejeweled Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla creation for a more polished interpretation.

Her recent raw and rustic approach to the look, particularly the intricate details of her ensemble, have truly captured attention.
